Spiritual Warfare Prayers
Making Your Emergency Call to Heaven

Bit of a roll-your-eyes headline, I admit, but I wanted to draw your attention to the fact that although we tend to think of making that call for help at the moment when we most need it...

...we could prepare ahead of time instead.

The way I see it, there are two kinds of situation for spiritual warfare prayers.

There's the "I need help right now because there's something strange going on" kind of situation. This one, I believe, is the most common time to call for spiritual protection. You need Archangel Michael's sword of blue flame in action.

Even people who never pray and aren't really sure there's such a thing as God tend to make an impassioned plea of some sort when things get really scary.

For in-the-moment cases like this, you really want something short and snappy that'll fit in a pocket-sized memory for easy retrieval. It's basically calling for help, so I'll refer to this type of spiritual warfare prayers as 'calls'.

The "I need help this minute" scenarios can happen to anyone at any time, and they do. But what's great is that we can reduce those times quite a bit by putting on our spiritual armor ahead of time. Getting into a routine of giving spiritual warfare prayers first thing in the morning means that you're walking around throughout the day sealed in spiritual protection. It's much harder for the dark forces to make a dent in your world when you're already armed with light.

They know they're gonna get a whuppin' if they try to mess with you! ;-)

I know from experience that the periods in my life when I'm forgetting (or not making the time) to ask God for daily protection are the times when I start to notice I'm getting 'hit' from all angles. I might feel depressed, get irritated easily, have a headache that won't go away, become totally lazy and "not bothered", or even feel shivery cold for no apparent reason.

There are countless ways a spiritual attack can manifest, and they often work by finding 'hooks' in you - momemtums of negative thoughts, feelings or actions that you hang on to. Getting your spiritual armor on is crucial to warding off these attacks.

Here's a nice short prayer you can make to Archangel Michael, the angel of protection every morning and whenever else you like. (The address 'Lord' is used here as a term of respect).

Lord Michael before,
Lord Michael behind,
Lord Michael to the right,
Lord Michael to the left,
Lord Michael above,
Lord Michael below,
Lord Michael, Lord Michael wherever I go!

I AM his love protecting here!

For those times when you need to make a quick call, here's one:

"Archangel Michael, help me, help me, help me!"

...and another is to call to Shiva, a cosmic being recognized as a deity in Hinduism. He is known as The Destroyer because he dances his cosmic dance on any situation in need of rectifying, and in the process he destroys whatever is not of the light.

You can call to him using just his name, because his name holds the key to his great power. Call it out loud with determination and know that he can fix any problem - stray thoughts in your mind, words you now regret, terrible things in the news (call to him while watching or listening to the reports).

"Shiva! Shiva! Shiva!"

(It sounds like 'shEEva')
