What are decrees?

The art of decreeing combines the processes of prayer, meditation, mantra and visualization with the creative power of the throat chakra - one of the spiritual power centers in your body. It's a step-up of all prayer forms East and West, placing special emphasis on affirmations using the name of God, I AM THAT I AM, and it utilizes the Science of the Spoken Word.

Dynamic decrees are the most powerful of all calls to God and the heavenly beings. By using our will and our voice we can actually engage in an act of creation. We can create a forcefield, a current of sound energy that wasn't present before we began. We can create positive change.

What kind of positive change?

Here are some of the benefits of decreeing:

• Attunes us with our Higher Self and higher planes of consciousness, so releasing our inner strengths and resources.
• Enables us to tackle any situation with confidence, and give world service by drawing down God's light into all problems.
• Balances our negative karma (debts to life) because so much good comes from our requests to God.
• Instills in us the qualities of the seven rays of God: protection, wisdom, love, purity, abundance, peace and forgiveness.
• Expands the light in our aura and chakras (spiritual centers in the body) for our personal healing - body, mind and soul.
• Overcomes fear, anxiety, despair, and gives us a sense of purpose in our daily lives.
• Day by day, it has a transforming effect on our lives, our personalities and the world around us.

Thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.
(Job 22:28)

How do decrees work?

The Science of the Spoken Word is based on the fact that we are all sons and daughters of God, containing within ourselves a portion of God's consciousness and spiritual energy, and that therefore it is our destiny to also be co-creators with God.

The Bible tells us that God enacted the Creation by the power of the Word "without which was not anything made that was made" (John 1:1-3). This "Word" is the divine Cosmic Vibration or, as Hinduism calls it, the OM. The Word or OM is the source of all physical matter, all energy, and all of life.

We also read in the Bible that we should direct the energy of God by the spoken Word: "Thus saith the Lord...concerning the work of My hands, command ye me" (Isaiah 45:11). When Jesus healed, he always spoke the command that released the light in order to manifest on the physical plane that perfection which he acknowledged was already complete in higher realms.

It's basically about drawing down the light from heaven so it can act in our world.

Here are the six essential things to understand about decrees:

1. You can use prayer to create spiritual and material changes in your life.
2. Spoken prayer is more effective than silent prayer.
3. Decrees are the most powerful and effective form of spoken prayer.
4. When you use God's name, I AM THAT I AM, in your decrees, you access his unlimited power.
5. Repeating decrees increases their benefit.
6. Using visualizations enhances your decrees.

So...what do I do?

If you'd like to try out giving decrees, here's what you can do.

Firstly read through the set of decrees below (known as the Heart, Head and Hand Decrees) either out loud or in your head, just to get familiar with the words. If the meaning isn't clear to you at the moment, don't worry.

Then, watch the video, listening to the rhythm and pace and getting familiar with the visualizations.

When you're ready to join in, make sure you're sitting up straight with your legs and arms uncrossed, so as not to 'short-circuit' the energies that are intended to bless all humanity.

Say the decrees along with the video, or by yourself if you prefer, and try to see in your mind's eye each word or a descriptive phrase as a thought-pattern or image. You'll find that visualization becomes easier with practice. You might like to print out the decrees so you can read along with the audio.

If you can give these decrees every day, then do! Each time you say a decree it adds a little more to the store of God-power being used for positive change in your life. A regular pattern of giving decrees creates a powerful momentum.

Heart

Violet fire, thou love divine,
Blaze within this heart of mine!
Thou art mercy forever true,
Keep me always in tune with you.

Head

I AM light, thou Christ in me,
Set my mind forever free;
Violet fire, forever shine
Deep within this mind of mine.

God who gives my daily bread,
With violet fire fill my head
Till thy radiance heavenlike
Makes my mind a mind of light.

Hand

I AM the hand of God in action,
Gaining victory every day;
My pure soul’s great satisfaction
Is to walk the Middle Way.

Tube of Light

Beloved I AM Presence bright,
Round me seal your tube of light
From Ascended Master flame
Called forth now in God's own name.
Let it keep my temple free
From all discord sent to me.
I AM calling forth violet fire
To blaze and transmute all desire,
Keeping on in Freedom’s name
Till I AM one with the violet flame.

Forgiveness

I AM forgiveness acting here,
Casting out all doubt and fear,
Setting men forever free
With wings of cosmic victory.
I AM calling in full power
For forgiveness every hour;
To all life in every place
I flood forth forgiving grace.

Supply

I AM free from fear and doubt,
Casting want and misery out,
Knowing now all good supply
Ever comes from realms on high.
I AM the hand of God’s own fortune
Flooding forth the treasures of light,
Now receiving full abundance
To supply each need of life.

Perfection

I AM life of God-direction
Blaze thy light of truth in me.
Focus here all God’s perfection,
From all discord set me free.
Make and keep me anchored ever
In the justice of thy plan—
I AM the presence of perfection
Living the life of God in man!

Transfiguration

I AM changing all my garments,
Old ones for the bright new day;
With the sun of understanding
I AM shining all the way.
I AM light within, without;
I AM light is all about.
Fill me, free me, glorify me!
Seal me, heal me, purify me!
Until transfigured they describe me:
I AM shining like the Son,
I AM shining like the sun!

Resurrection

I AM the flame of resurrection
Blazing God’s pure light through me.
Now I AM raising every atom,
From every shadow I AM free.
I AM the light of God’s full presence,
I AM living ever free.
Now the flame of life eternal
Rises up to victory.

Ascension

I AM ascension light,
Victory flowing free,
All of good won at last
For all eternity.
I AM light all weights are gone.
Into the air I raise;
To all I pour with full God-power
My wondrous song of praise.
All hail! I AM the living Christ,
The ever-loving One.
Ascended now with full God-power,
I AM a blazing sun!
